In the NatureSpots App, you can not only share photos of animals, plants and mushrooms, but you can also upload spots about habitats. A habitat is the term from ecology about a particular type of area, which is defined by its natural characteristics like e.g., a forest or the ocean.
Habitats occur in geographical regions and on planet earth, there are many types of habitats present. In the App, we cover a wide range of habitat types, from urban over grasslands to freshwater or mountains. Each habitat group has different sub-types of habitats for you to select. You can also enter a habitat manually if you do not find a fitting category. Different habitat types can have additonal information, like for example in types of forest you can specify if it is a broadleaf forest, a cornifer forest or a mixed forest.
