"According to Krell (2012), gallicus should be the correct name for the beetle known as "zonatus" from large parts of Europe. The Palearctic catalogue (Löbl & Löbl, 2016) now lists that beetle as subspecies Trichius gallicus gallicus , next to the subspecies T. g. zonatus for a beetle from the southern Mediterranean.
