"Moving the base perches wasn't a problem. It can have both advantages and disadvantages: more detail is visible, but too close results in less sharpness across the entire bird. A key advantage is that you can follow the sun with the perches, and will the big ones appreciate being spotted from so close? So, another perch a bit further away is also recommended.
